Panic!

I just got an email from the British Consulate yesterday informing me that, while they received my visa application weeks ago, due to the large number of applications they have received, they just opened it yesterday. Furthermore, it will take anywhere from 24 hours to 15 days to process, not including shipping time. AAAAAAH!!! Not Good! Not Good! So I'm officially in full-fledged panic mode. Not quite hyperventilating yet, so I suppose that's a good sign, but Now What?

On a separate note, due to the violent reaction had by Tristan on the color scheme of this blog, I have changed the template to the blander and more non-committal "Scribe." Hopefully this one will not trigger the estrogen-induced gag reflex in some of my readers. I, personally, am rather fond of rose, but I think parchment will fit better with my profile pic and furthermore won't clash as much with any photos I may post.

T-179 Hours

Nine days (well, eight and two nights) until I leave for England. Not that anyone's counting. Percentage of packing completed: -60. I'm still unpacking from coming home from college. To be fair, I came home late at night on the 18th, dumped all of my stuff in my room, and immediately headed off to NYC (at the airport at 3:30 am--not nice), and didn't get back until 12:30 am on the 24th. Then it was Christmas, Christmas, Christmas for two and a half days (including cleanup the day after), followed by spending much-needed friend time with Eryn, so I wasn't able to actually start unpacking from college until afternoon today. And it takes me more than a few hours to unpack, when you figure in errands, walking the dog, dawdling time, and my tendency to bring way too much stuff everywhere I go. This will be a problem this coming week, when I have to put my life into two suitcases. Maybe one suitcase and a carry-on, if I'm really, really good. Which I'm not.

First Post ...Testing 1 2 3

Hi, I'm Miss M. This is my first blog--I've never even read a blog before, so this will be an adventure.

I'm starting this blog as a way of keeping my friends updated during my study abroad to England. Some of my friends kept blogs during their studies abroad, and recommended that I do so as well. Bets on how long I will keep it up?
